Weekly roundup

OpenAI spent the week stabilising GPT-5 after its rocky launch, restoring older models, tweaking reasoning routes, and adding new connectors for Gmail, Calendar, Teams, and GitHub. Microsoft Copilot users got early access at no extra cost. Safety updates improved filtering, but researchers found that simple typos could still bypass protections. AI-coding start-up Cognition raised nearly $500 million to scale Devin, its autonomous engineer, pushing its valuation close to $10 billion. Bolt rolled out a major platform upgrade with hosting, auth, SEO tools, and payments for $25 a month, aiming to keep users beyond initial prototypes. And Hands On Create’s “Anything” platform hit version 1.0 with multi-platform output, though early testers reported too many errors for production use.
